The University of Aveiro hosted a dissemination and results-sharing activity for the CiPoCer project through the presentation of the Master’s thesis in Chemical Engineering entitled “Circularity applied to polymeric waste in the ceramic sector”, authored by student Sofia Caldas.
This presentation aligns with the objectives of the CiPoCer project, which focuses on the development of innovative processes for the valorization of polymeric waste generated during the production of tableware ceramics. Within the scope of the work carried out, the research focused specifically on the recycling of polyurethane (PU) waste.
Throughout the study, recycling conditions were analyzed and optimized with the aim of reintegrating the recycled material into the production process. The results obtained demonstrate the potential of this recycling method as a partial replacement for virgin raw materials, thereby contributing to the promotion of circularity and sustainability in the ceramic sector.
The thesis presentation thus represented an important moment for knowledge sharing and dissemination of the results achieved within the scope of the CiPoCer project, reinforcing the commitment to innovation and the circular economy in the ceramic industry.
