Costa Verde and artist Fernando Gaspar developed the “Intervention in Blue” project, with the main objectives of experimenting and trialling new methods for a renewed approach to artistic work. Due to its virtues and technical challenges, porcelain was the ultimate exercise in humility and resilience for an artist used to other surfaces, materials and practices.

The project, presented during the last edition of Vagos Sensation Gourmet, was based on the Saturno line using digital printing technology, resulting in unique and personalised patterns that were achieved after firing at 1,200ºC.

Costa Verde is grateful for the challenge set by the artist and believes that this will only be the kick-off for other exploratory projects to be developed in the near future.

Fernando Gaspar is a Portuguese artist whose career began in 1986, and who collaborates and is represented in institutions and art galleries in Portugal, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Germany. Over the years, the plasticity of his work has evolved into an increasingly reflective and contemporary approach, marked by a very strong and openly independent language.
