But excellence was only possible to achieve, after several centuries improving its production techniques<\/strong>. From China to Europe: The path crossed by porcelain<\/h2>\n

The history of\u00a0porcelain<\/a>\u00a0takes us back to the 7th up to the 10th centuries, marked by the\u00a0Tang dynasty<\/strong>\u00a0in China. The\u00a0waterproof<\/strong>\u00a0and translucent material \u2013 then called\u00a0yao<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 was born from the mixture of two minerals, which remain an integral part of its\u00a0composition<\/strong>:\u00a0feldspar<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0kaolin<\/strong>. This last one derives from the word\u00a0Kauling<\/em>, originating from the hill of\u00a0Jauchau Fu<\/em>, in the north of the country, where the raw material might have been obtained.<\/p>\n

Through a very archaic process and the subjection to a\u00a0firing<\/strong>\u00a0of 1450 degrees Celsius, the Chinese concluded that the characteristics of the feldspar provided the porcelain with vitrification, while the kaolin ensured the shape of the piece.<\/p>\n

It was by the hand of the Italian\u00a0Marco Polo<\/strong>\u00a0that Europe got to know\u00a0porcelain<\/a>, disseminated by of the Portuguese, French and English India\u2019s Companies. Curiously, it was only in 1707 that the German alchemists Johann Friedrich B\u00f6ttger and Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus were able to unravel the formula of true Chinese porcelain.<\/p>\n

If the French bet on the whiteness and purity of this material, the English developed the mastery and precision across finishing, making the articles in porcelain true\u00a0pieces of art<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Throughout the centuries, there have been great developments in the process of porcelain paste composition, fostered by technological advances in\u00a0equipment<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0manufacturing<\/strong>\u00a0techniques<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Costa Verde among the most modern factories in the world<\/h2>\n

Produced from\u00a0clay<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0quartz<\/strong>, to which feldspar and kaolin combine,\u00a0porcelain<\/a>\u00a0is obtained through various manufacturing processes:\u00a0filling<\/strong>,\u00a0isostatic<\/strong>\u00a0pressing<\/strong>,\u00a0high-pressure filling<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0counter-molding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After a first firing at 1000 \u00baC, in a cycle up to 18 hours, the pieces are fired again at a temperature of up to 1400 \u00baC, which provides them with impermeability and makes them extremely\u00a0resistant<\/a>. Only later, in high firing, the decoration is applied on the glaze, giving rise to pieces of an extraordinary beauty and quality<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
