Costa Verde<\/b> <\/a>has reinforced its commitment towards environmental sustainability, in 2024, by valuing more than 98%<\/b> of the waste arising from its industrial activity, thus emphasising responsible environmental management, being in line with ISO 14001:2015<\/a> <\/b>standard’s requirements. Throughout the year, the company produced a total of 2.473.325 kg<\/b> of waste, of which 2.428.977 kg<\/b> were valued through internal reuse or external recycling, while only 44.348 kg was disposed of, equivalent to less than 2%<\/b> of the total.<\/p>\n

This performance is the outcome of a rigorous waste segregation and operational control strategy, based on efficient separation practices, accurate materials’ identification and prevention of reusable waste contamination. This waste’s correct management allows it to be safely reused in accordance with the organisation’s environmental principles.<\/p>\n

Among the valued waste is raw cullet and clean scraps<\/b>, which are reincorporated into the internal production process, as well as glazed cullet, plaster moulds and other materials<\/b> which, after being processed, are sent to the floor, sanitary ware and refractory industries.<\/p>\n

The ISO 14001:2015<\/b> <\/a>certification<\/a> <\/b>emphasises the importance of integrated environmental management and continuous improvement, thus ensuring all processes comply with the highest international sustainability standards. Costa Verde<\/a><\/b> also acknowledges its employees’ fundamental role along this journey, by promoting training and awareness-raising activities, which encourage the sharing of responsibilities across all company areas.<\/p>\n

The firm commitment towards waste recovery, interlinked with compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ensures a positive and sustained environmental impact<\/b>.
